Summer vacation is a golden time to improve your maths skills. Why summer vacation is the only window
This is not propaganda rhetoric, but a fact of time structure.
It is impossible to "make up for the old" and "prepare for the new" in parallel during the semester
After school starts, school progress will not stop. Any time spent looking back at old topics is tantamount to falling behind on current topics; conversely, pursuing current topics means there is no time to fill holes. Summer vacation is the only time of the year that does not have this contradiction - because there is no new progress being pushed.
Preview changes the position of "first contact"
After the summer school teaches the next year's topics in advance, the school lesson changes from "beginner" to "second contact". In the same 40-minute class, students' cognitive load is completely different: the first time they have to process symbols, concepts and operations at the same time; the second time they only need to fill in details and confirm understanding. This is what our regular classes also use Taught 1 to 2 classes in advance The same principle, summer school just enlarges the time scale.
The two connecting years have the largest return
- lForm 1: The biggest level is not the difficulty of the content, but the transformation of thinking from concrete arithmetic to abstract symbolic operations. It is here that many students who excel in primary school mathematics lose confidence for the first time.
- lForm 4: From the 3 learning areas of the junior form to the senior secondary core, the dependence between the topics has increased significantly, and at the same time, you have to decide whether to take electives M1 or M2.
Form 6 summer vacation is the starting point for practicing rhythm
The summer vacation when you upgrade to Form 6 is the best time to establish the habit of "limited time full volume". Our regular Form 6 course will complete the entire DSE course in October, and then focus on the exam papers; if the remaining topics are completed during the summer vacation and the general review begins, the practice period after October can be lengthened. Summer school course features
Preview courses for the new academic year
summer school Pre-teach next year’s curriculum, so that students can master core concepts before starting school. The goal is to establish a framework and basic operational abilities, rather than to complete a full year's course in advance.
intensive teaching
use 7 lessons intensive Arrange and complete the preview of the main topics in a short period of time. The advantage of intensive study is that the connection between topics is still in memory, and it is easier for students to see the structure instead of treating each topic as an independent piece.
Small class teaching
The teacher-student ratio is no more than 1:7, and tutors can take care of each student's learning needs and answer questions immediately. Summer school students often come from different schools and have very different starting points, so individual follow-up is especially important.
The chief instructor teaches in person

Questions about upgrading to Form 3: Quadratic equations and quadratic functions are official learning units in senior secondary Core, but many Band 1 secondary schools have already taught them in Form 3 in advance. Therefore, the actual depth of the Form 3 summer school will be adjusted according to the progress of the student's school - please provide the name of the school when registering so that we can align the actual arrangements of the school. IB/GCE Mathematics Summer School
The summer vacation for international students has an advantage that local students do not have: they can simultaneously plan the topic selection direction of the IB internal assessment Mathematical Exploration (IA). IA accounts for 20% of the final grade of IB mathematics, and the most common reason for losing points is the wrong choice of questions - too big to complete, too detailed and insufficient in mathematical depth, or the data is not available. The relationship between the two is sequential rather than replacement: the summer class is responsible for laying the foundation, and the regular class is responsible for building the building on the foundation. See course overview All maths tuition courses.
Registration time and process
- Registration will start from May to June: Seats are limited, so it is recommended to reserve your desired time slot as early as possible.
- Provide student information: Grade (which level to go to), school attended, courses taken (compulsory, M1/M2, IB AA/AI, IGCSE, IAL), and the specific topics that are currently most troublesome.
- Matching classes: We recommend suitable classes based on the evaluation results; if there is a large foundation gap, we will recommend supplementary support or one-on-one arrangements.
- Classes start from July to August: 7 classes in total, taught by Mr Wan himself.
- Continue regular class: After the start of school, students can be transferred to regular classes of the corresponding grade to continue their progress and receive support for school examinations.

What is the difference between summer classes and regular classes?
The summer school is an intensive course with 7 classes, focusing on previewing the courses for the coming year; the regular class is 4 classes per month, closely following the school's progress and providing targeted review before the school exam. The two complement each other.
How much does summer school cost?
Junior secondary 7 classes $2,240, senior secondary core $2,380, compulsory M1/M2 (2 hours each class) $2,800, IB/GCE classes $2,800. When converted into an hourly rate, it is exactly the same as the unit price of the corresponding regular class.
How many topics will be taught in the summer school?
The 7 lessons cover the major topics from the first semester of the grade, with the goal of establishing a framework of core concepts rather than completing a full year's course. Regular class meetings after the start of school will provide in-depth explanations and drills.
Do I need to register for regular classes after enrolling in summer classes?
It is recommended to register at the same time. If you can only choose one, the summer courses in the two connecting years of Form 1 and Form 4 will have the most obvious returns.
Who teaches summer classes?
All summer classes are taught by the chief tutor Mr Wan (Terry Wan). He took the DSE exam as a self-taught student and got 5** in Mathematics Core, M1 and M2. For details, see Tutor page.
If you have a weak foundation, should you take a preparatory class or make up for it?
The advantage of the summer vacation is that you can do both in parallel: first look back at the old gap, and then start previewing the next year's topics. If the gap spans multiple grades, it is recommended to evaluate first, and cooperation may be required.Top-up courses or One to one deal with.
When does registration for summer classes start?
Registration usually starts from May to June every year, and classes start from July to August. Seats are limited, so it is recommended to register early. Please contact WhatsApp for the latest details.
